Junior Web Designer / Developer

Responsibilities:

• Installing and customizing WordPress or other CMS applications on a Linux Server
• Creating Wordpress and other CMS templates from graphic mock-ups
• Implementing WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla Plug-ins
• Converting different type of content like text, graphics, video to Web Platform
• Testing and debugging websites in different browsers platform
• Solving web technical issues for individual cases
• Working directly with project managers to set up goals, objectives, and milestones for each project
• Communicating project progress and problems with project managers and customers
• Training customers and providing support
• Bringing new Internet Marketing ideas to team and department
• Creating graphical elements such as icons, banners for random projects
• Documenting design and development process for each customer

Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of CSS, PHP, HTML
• Highly experienced in WordPress Application
• Knowledge of working with other Content Management Systems( CMS) such as Drupal, Joomla
• Strong code debugging and testing skills
• Ability to manage and complete projects
• Flash/ Action Script Knowledge
• Knowledge in Web 2.0 – online communities, blogs, wikis
• Basic knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
• Familiarity with software like Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator a plus
• Graphic design experience a plus
• Familiarity with JavaScript, XML and Ajax  a plus
• Basic knowledge of .NET a plus
• Knowledge of using various PC platforms
• Knowledge in User Interface Design and Theory an asset
• Familiar with project management software and processes
• Ability to work in group environment and independently
• Can provide constructive criticism
• Interpret customer demands and provide workable, timely solutions

• Portfolio of previous work (contents no older than 2 years. Preference given to samples with database design and implementation)
